QUESTIONS AND FAMILY

Hello everbody. We’re still busy answering the thousands and thousands of questions we’ve received, both from press, people and the others. At the same time, we’re working very hard with making this site work and full of great stuff; the shop, of course, which hopefully will be up tomorrow, as well as our full story, more images of the jeans, the promised Q&A… etc.

Also, some of you got the chance to buy a pair of jeans during our opening (we’re very close to finding a new location for our museum now!), and some have bought them through Aplace. First of all: thank YOU. Secondly: you are all a hugely important part of the second chapter of Noko Jeans, and we are working on setting up a place where you not only learn more, but become a true part of our story. YES!

It’ll be at nokojeans.com/family, but until that’s up, please send us an e-mail at info@nokojeans.com so we can send you your future login details and all that jazz.

That’s all for now. Your smiles are the eternal pursuit of Noko Jeans.

OUR MUSEUM IS CLOSED (BUT WILL RE-OPEN)

Screen shot 2009-12-05 at 4.17.56 PM

Fjong! PUB department store has shut down the Noko Jeans Museum, presumably as part of a bigger initiative to investigate worker’s condition for all their brands. We think some of the shelves will look empty come Monday, but still – what a great thing to do of PUB!

(PS — our Museum will re-open at another location soon)

Update: The Washington Post regarding the world’s shortest flagship store ever (two hours, we think).

TWO INTERVIEWS

The interest for this story has been huge. We don’t know how many interviews we’ve done. Some day we’ll gather them all here – most of them raises good questions both in the article and the comment field – but until then, we leave you with two we liked.

The Guardian — “Denim diplomacy: North Korea exports jeans to Sweden”

New York Times — “North Korea-Made Designer Jeans Launched in Sweden”

COME MONDAY: PURCHASE JEANS!

O hai; due to some technical errors, the shop for the jeans won’t be available until Monday. Thank you for your patience! If this upsets you in any way, feel free to direct that towards Payex. Reliable but very, very, very slow.

HELLO IT’S NOKO JEANS!

… and welcome to our brand new WWW.W. Here at nokojeans.com is where we will tell the full story of Noko Jeans, answer any and all questions about this project and of course, if you like what you see and support us, gives you a chance to buy a pair of the first jeans ever produced in North Korea.

Right now, we are very much in the center of the storm and have very little time. Rest assured, this site and its contents will grow; starting next week, we will try to recount every last detail of these intense, mind-smelting, never not fascinating two and half years of work has resulted in. Everything done in our spare time, we are enormously proud and want to say thank YOU to everyone who has helped and supported it, from diplomats, to shipping experts, to fashion experts to Sir Bob Deng and lots of people in-between.

To everyone else: welcome to Maneuvers In The Dark, the first chapter of Noko Jeans.
